Editorial Policy
Our editorial principles
- Food first: food identity and culinary plausibility come before optimization.
- Useful context: nutrition numbers support the decision; they do not define the food or the person eating it.
- One meaningful lever: each transformation should have a clear purpose.
- Visible tradeoffs: a change is not presented as universally better merely because one metric improves.
- Honest limits: unavailable and not-applicable options are valid outcomes.
Review and corrections
Production food records should display their status, reviewer information where applicable, source links, and verification date. We correct material errors when identified and may archive content that can no longer be supported.
Independence
Commercial relationships should not determine nutrition calculations or editorial conclusions. Any material relationship relevant to a recommendation should be disclosed clearly near that recommendation.
